In another thread, I saw that one person pointed out that they're still hoping for Daja/Rizu in the future. So the question is - first of all, do you think that Daja/Rizu can or will happen in the future? Secondly, do you want it to?

No, I don't think that Daja/Rizu will happen in the future. Rizu is too devoted to her country to leave it, and Daja is too devoted to Emelan to leave it.

I could see another fling coming if Daja visits Namorn again-she does have friends there, and the emrpress didn't exactly banish them Briar even said he'd like to come back on his own terms.
I almost stopped reading SotL when I was nine because of "too much sex." I kid you not.

I think it's possible that Daja will return to Namorn one day, although she'll probably spend more time in Kugisko with her friends there, and less time in Dancruan. If she does return, it's possible that she and Rizu will rekindle, but eventually they will be faced with the same dilemma. Rizu might change her mind one day, if she believed she had good job prospects in Emelan and so forth.
Then again, by the time Daja returns Rizu may well have another lover. I don't think Tammy will be inclined to bring them back together. They had a nice, clean, plausible breakup, and I think Tammy is ready to move on to other things (if she ever writes about Daja again). As for fanfic, I wouldn't necessarily find post-WotE Daja/Rizu implausible or OOC, but it would need a good, solid backstory. |

I really don't think they'll get together. There is no way either of them will leave their countries for each other, they might have been unhappy, but neither seemed to want to sacrifice their country for each other either, which isn't exactly a good sign in a relationship. If Daja ever goes back, I can see them having another fling with each other, unless either of them are in a serious relationship with somebody else. Otherwise, I think that relationship is ended for good.

I want them back together. I think that sometime the Empress is going to get overthrown and then Rizu will leave.
And hopefully Daja and Rizu will get back together.
