In Terrier I assumed Beka and Rosto would get together for several reasons. Their blatant chemistry was the main reason. I also took into account Rosto's lack of a last name, which would account for the continuation of the Cooper name (after Bloodhound I assumed his lack of a family name is due to the rumors of his relation to Scanran nobility; if a noble family disowned him it stands to reason that he'd abandon their name). Another reason was Rosto's similarity to George Cooper: I'd assumed Pierce was hinting at a characteristic throwback to George's possible ancestor. The obvious obstacles are even more highlighted to me in Bloodhound however, in how set Beka's attitude is against the idea, despite her attraction to him. How would Beka, who's sense of justice and morality is extremely strong, even begin to reconcile herself with Rosto's line of work? And we've already seen one King of Thieves abdicate his throne for his love (although that is a bit of an over-simplification of matters), so I don't think Mrs. Pierce would repeat that with Beka's story. We'll see how the situation progresses in Mastiff, but Mrs. Pierce has hinted at a canon pairing and deviated from it before (with Kel and Neal).

I for one really want to see Beka and Rosto together. I am a big Rosto fan, and I think they're great together! But most of the Tortallan pairings I want to happen don't, so we'll see...
